Neatly finished curved lawn with planted borders

Hard landscaping service

Lawns in Cambridgeshire

Replace tired turf, add a new lawn area or consider a quality artificial surface for a lower-maintenance garden.

Planning the work

Lawns built for your garden

Good landscaping starts below the finished surface. Preparation, levels, edges and drainage are considered alongside the visible materials.

A successful lawn depends on the ground beneath it as much as the turf or artificial surface above. We look at intended use, shade, drainage, soil condition, access and the surrounding edges before agreeing the preparation required.

We can quote against an existing brief or discuss suitable construction and material options during a free site visit. Every written quotation is based on the agreed scope for your property.

How we approach the build

The exact method depends on the site and agreed materials, but every project is planned from the groundwork upwards.

  1. 01

    Clear and prepare

The old surface is removed where necessary and the ground is cultivated or excavated to suit the agreed lawn type.

  2. 02

    Level and improve

Levels and edges are formed, with suitable soil or base materials added and prepared for an even finish.

  3. 03

    Lay the new lawn

Turf or artificial grass is installed, trimmed around edges and left with clear guidance for its initial care.

After the installation

Keeping the finished work at its best

New turf needs attentive watering while it establishes and should not be heavily used straight away. Artificial lawns also benefit from routine debris removal and occasional brushing; we explain the relevant early-care steps when the work is completed.

Questions about lawns

Useful answers before you begin

For broader questions about quotes, payment and working arrangements, see our main FAQs.

Is turf or artificial grass right for me?

The best choice depends on how the area will be used, the garden conditions and the level of natural appearance and maintenance you want.

Can you level the ground before laying a lawn?

Ground preparation and levelling can be included. We assess the existing surface and any drainage issues during the visit.

How soon can I use newly laid turf?

Turf needs time to root and regular watering at the start. We provide practical guidance based on the conditions when it is laid.
